It’s been kind of a roller coaster ride for Henry Cavill fans and now we’re looking at a new season of The Witcher with a new Geralt in the form of Liam Hemsworth.
Just in, Netflix has dropped a first look at Hemsworth in full regalia as everyone’s favorite Witcher. Check it out:
The journey continues. Here’s your first look at Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia.
With Cavill being praised for his portrayal of Geralt in the show, you can expect a lot of pressure is on Hemsworth to make the character his own. With Cavill having to constantly dehydrate himself for Geralt’s nude scenes, fans are wondering if his new Geralt is going to have the same kind of sexualization as well.
Interestingly enough, some speculated that Hemsworth’s arrival is going to mark some kind of soft-reboot for the character. Besides the new face, we can also see Hemsworth’s Geralt sporting a different sword. Then again, the show is keeping up with the same writers, so the show should more or less feel the same. It’s not like Geralt is the most expressive of characters.
So far, fans have been expressing their disappointment at the loss of Cavill in the show, but even Cavill himself has been expressing his distaste for the show’s direction—veering away from the source material.
Until the fourth season comes out though, I’m willing to be more positive about Hemsworth taking over. Fingers crossed.
I feel a bit sorry for Liam here. Henry Cavill is Geralt – just perfect for the role. Replacing him ruins the immersion, no matter how Hemsworth does… hope he smashes it though

No release date has been announced for the fourth season of The Witcher, but we should expect it to premiere on Netflix sometime later this year.
