Back in 2000, Terry Gilliam was set to start production on a movie called The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, but the set was so wrought with misfortune, that production has to shut down. Almost 20 years later, Gilliam has finally finished shooting the film, and now we have our first trailer for the movie.

Check it out:

Here’s the synopsis:

An advertising executive jumps back and forth in time between 21st century London and 17th century La Mancha, where Don Quixote mistakes him for Sancho Panza.

Adam Driver will be playing the role of the man that Don Quixote mistakes for his sidekick Sancho, and this looks like a complete 360 from his role as Kylo Ren in Star Wars. Looking at Jonathan Pryce, though, I’ve never seen him take on a character so wacky before. It’s hard to believe this is the same man who was the High Sparrow in Game of Thrones.

Don Quixote has been a longtime passion project for Gilliam, and his troubles with the film have been well-documented in the 2002’s Lost in La Mancha. Back then, the movie was set to star a completely different cast which included Johnny Depp and John Rochefort.

No specific release date has been announced for The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, but the movie is expected to come out this year.
