A new clip has just been released for the film, and it features the Autobots encountering the Maximals led by Optimus Primal.

Watch this:

Besides Primal, we also get a look at other Maximals Cheetor and Rhinox. On the Autobot side of things, the clip gives us Mirage, Wheeljack, Arcee, and of course, Optimus Prime. Oddly enough, Bumblebee is missing from the scene, but I’m hopeful that Paramount doesn’t decided to suddenly kill him off in this movie. I mean, why else give him his own solo film?

So far, it looks like the Transformers timeline has been rebooted with the Bumblebee movie, and we don’t have to worry about when Shia LaBeouf comes into all of this. While I am fine with the rebooted story, I am wondering when we’ll finally get to see the villain of the franchise come back, because it just feels odd to have Unicron with no Megatron in sight.

Returning to the action and spectacle that have captured moviegoers around the world, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure with the Autobots and introduce a whole new faction of Transformers – the Maximals – to join them as allies in the existing battle for earth.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts comes to cinemas on June 9.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts to Start New Trilogy https://www.geekfeed.com/transformers-rise-of-the-beasts-to-start-new-trilogy/ Wed, 16 Feb 2022 16:26:16 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=64118 Bumblebee may have left with an open ending, but it looks like Paramount Pictures is ready to go back to the beginning. In a new announcement, they’ve revealed that the next Transformers film is going to be the start of a new trilogy—with several more Transformers projects underway.

Here’s the post from Paramount+:

We don’t know exactly where Rise of the Beasts exists in the Transformers movie canon, but we know that Beast Wars is connected to the OG Transformers, so the same could be happening for this new film. If anything, the revamped designs for Bumblebee were so good that it would be a shame if we didn’t see those iterations of the Autobots and Decepticons again.

While a new animated Transformers series is expected every few years, I am eager to take a look at a fully CG-animated Transformers film. If anything, I never really thought that the Transformers films needed any human characters, and a movie could just focus on the robots which have a lot of personality on their own. Maybe they can set the whole thing in Cybertron, because that opening scene of Bumblebee can be its own movie.

We don’t know when Paramount is going to give us our first look at Rise of the Beasts, but with a mid-2023 release, we might have to wait until the New Year for a first look. That’s just my guess though.

For now, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is expected to hit theaters on June 9, 2023.
