As confirmed by Variety, Sydney Sweeney will be playing the part of Julia Carpenter a.k.a. Spider-Woman who is now the comics’ Madame Web. When Sweeney got the part, she had said, “I was freaking out, of course… I went straight to the comic store, and I bought every comic that mentioned my character.”

In the comics, Carpenter was an agent for the Comission who became part of an experimental study that gave her powers equivalent of Spider-Man. Though she did start our as Spider-Woman, she did get other aliases including Arachne, Spider-Girl, and Spider-Lady.

For now, the dominant Spider-Women in the big screen are both Jessica Drew and Gwen Stacy from Across the Spider-Verse, but the character is yet to make their debut in live-action.

Though the Venom films did make money in the box office, all the other spinoffs like Morbius were not able to make a huge box office draw. The jury is still out for how Kraven will go, but some are still on the fence about Madame Web and what kind of direction Sony wants to take the spinoff.

Madame Web is set for a release on Feb. 14, 2024, but in the meantime, Spider-Man fans can watch out for Kraven the Hunter which is set to release on Oct. 6.

Watch the Symbiote Suit in Action in Gameplay Footage for Spider-Man 2 https://www.geekfeed.com/symbiote-suit-in-gameplay-footage-spider-man-2/ Mon, 29 May 2023 17:34:25 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=76989 Probably the most anticipated game on the PlayStation Showcase was Spider-Man 2 from Insomniac Games, and the studio has managed to deliver with over 12 minutes of gameplay featuring Kraven, the Lizard, and the much-awaited black symbiote suit.

Watch this:

Kraven’s Hunters are in pursuit of Dr. Curt Connors, AKA The Lizard, and Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, need to stop them.

It’s not clear which part of the story this is in, but we can probably expect it to be a few hours into the campaign. We don’t have any details on how Peter gets the symbiote, but based on the dialogue, it looks like Kraven has been in New York City for quite a while.

Though we’ve seen depictions of the black suit before, it looks like the game is really embracing its alien elements, with Peter being able to shape shift and unleash all kind of tendrils at unsuspecting enemies. Of course, we can also see the symbiote altering his mood, and it’s possible we’ll get to see Miles and Peter clash as they both try to get rid of the alien goo—which has to happen, since it’s already been revealed that Venom will also appear in the game.

So far, the game looks fantastic, and I can’t wait to see how much of the established Spider-Man canon the game is willing to tweak. We already lost Aunt May in the first game and No Way Home, and some speculate that the Venom we meet in this game will be Harry Osborn and not Eddie Brock.

We’ll just have to wait and see.

Spider-Man 2 launches for the PS5 sometime this fall.
