Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection Officially Announced

EA may have fumbled the bag back in 2017 when they released Star Wars Battlefront II, and though we have no news of an upcoming Battlefront III, we did get an announcement for something that fans have been clamouring for since they started re-releasing classic Star Wars games.

Here’s the official announcement for Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection:

The collection essentially will bring back the original Battlefront games, but they will also be coming with all the DLC content that had been released for the games. Players will be able to get access to all new maps as well as playable characters that were only exclusive to specific platforms.

Battlefront has admittedly become a gold standard when it comes to Star Wars games. Though the modern Battlefront is still pretty great by itself, it still didn’t allow players the ability to get into a ship, fly into a larger enemy ship, and get off and start causing havoc on the ground there.

Though the launch for Battlefront II was considered disastrous, the developers have infamously ‘fixed’ the game over the course of a year since it officially released, adding all kinds of DLC and characters. Hopefully this re-release of the classic Battlefront will get fans geared up for a release of a Battlefront III, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens with the Battlefront Classic Collection .

Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is set to launch for PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch on March 14.
