Last week saw the one-year anniversary of Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Twitter was bombed with petitions to #MakeSolo2Happen. The campaign eventually got the attention of people directly involved with the film like Ron Howard and Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca), and now Erin Kellyman (Enfys Nest) just shared this fun BTS photo of herself fooling around with Chewie on set.
Out of all the standout characters in the film, one fan favorite came out to be Enfys Nest. Though the Rebel Alliance still didn’t exist at this time, Enfys was probably one of the earlier participants who fought for the people. I guess her beef isn’t really with the Empire, but we did see her try to recruit Han into her movement.
For now, we haven’t gotten anything official from Lucasfilm about a Solo sequel getting underway. The movie had underperformed at the box office, but a lot admit that it wasn’t due to the quality of the film, but because of poor marketing. Disney admittedly watered down the promos for Solo so they could put all the focus on the release of Avengers: Endgame.
At best, fans are hoping for a Disney+ series that will end the arc between Han and Qi’Ra, but most would still prefer a full movie. The thing about Star Wars is spectacle, and we could only expect a limited amount of that with a TV budget.
Then again, The Mandalorian could turn out great, so maybe a series could be the way to go.
A Solo sequel hasn’t been announced, but you can catch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters Dec. 20.
