Resist the Empire in New Story Trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

It’s been four years since the release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and this year EA is ready to come back to the story of lost Jedi Cal Kestis. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is set to come out this April, and we have a new trailer showcasing Cal and the rest of his companions from the first game.

Check it out here:

Though earlier previews have given us a look at Cal and some new characters, this trailer actually gives us more of Cal’s friends from Fallen Order including Greez and fan-favorite Merrin. While Cere seems to have returned to her Jedi duties, it seems that Greez has stopped piloting and has loaned the ship off to Cal; it’s unclear what Merrin has been up to, but it looks like she is going to be helping Cal in some of his missions.

Speaking of help, it does seem like Cal will now be able to have companions in the game, each with their own special abilities. While there are game companions that are just automatically helpful like Elizabeth in BioShock or Ellie in The Last of Us, there are some that can be partially controlled by the player, like Atreus in God of War. Hopefully we get some more gameplay explained as the game nears its release.

Here’s the official description:

The dark times are closing in as Cal Kestis seeks out a safe haven far from the reach of the Empire. Follow Cal and his crew’s increasingly desperate fight as the galaxy descends further into darkness.

Picking up five years after the events of STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order™, Jedi: Survivor is a third person, narrative-driven action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment, developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launches for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 on April 28.
