Many shows on Netflix manage to stand out, but the coming-of-age comedy/drama Sex Education is a charming show that everyone cannot wait to get back to. While COVID-19 had effectively suspended production everywhere, the show has announced the cameras have started rolling again for the third season.

According to DeadlineSex Education was originally set to start shooting in May, but with the pandemic happening, they had to wait and see when they could get everyone back to work. Though production has started, there’s still a very good chance that things could get halted once again, depending on how careful everyone is on set. Sony’s president of international production Wayne Garvie had said:

“It will be different. The next couple of years will be tricky, there’s going to be a few false starts — productions starting up and then stopping again — it’s going to be a bit messy. But then it will come back.”

As for the story, fans have been eagerly watching to finally have Otis and Maeve come together in Sex Education, but all hopes were suddenly dashed thanks to newcomer Isaac who has come to like Maeve himself. While we do know that Otis and Maeve have a history, you can kind of sympathize with how Isaac feels, seeing that Maeve is someone who he can actually connect with intellectually.

It’s still trashy that he had to lie about Otis though.

No release date has been set for Sex Education 3, but it’s expected to premiere on Netflix sometime in 2021.
