It appears as though a second Human Torch will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Michael B. Jordan has seemingly confirmed his involvement in the Black Panther solo movie. It has been reported recently that the Fantastic Four star was in talks with Marvel to star alongside Chadwick Boseman as the film’s villain. Although Marvel has yet to comment on the matter or what role he’ll actually play, Jordan expressed his excitement in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter which all but confirms he’s attached to the project.
“I’m looking forward to working with Ryan [Coogler] once again. It’s gonna be a good time” Jordan said. He also went on to say he was excited to work with 12 Years a Slave star Lupita Nyong’o, which also seems to confirm previous rumours that Lupita was in talks to join the film’s cast as Black Panther’s love interest. However once again, nothing has been confirmed by Marvel or Feige.
The king of Wakanda made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Captain America: Civil War this year and proved to be a hit with cinemagoers. Black Panther’s solo outing is penciled in to release on 2 February 2018. How long will it be before we see the entire of FOX’s superhero catalogue find a new home at Marvel?
