While everyone is eager to see when Mark Ruffalo and Ryan Reynolds will return —or in Reynolds’ case, arrive— to the MCU, the two have teamed up for an upcoming movie called The Adam Project where the pair will be playing a father and son. The movie is currently undergoing production, and we have a new still of both stars.

As for the plot of The Adam Project, the movie is said to focus on a man (Reynolds) who travels back in time to meet his 13-year-old self (Walker Scobell) and stop the death of his father (Ruffalo). The cast also includes the likes of Zoe Saldana (Guardians of the Galaxy) with Catherine Keener (Get Out) set to play the film’s villain. Ruffalo’s 13 Going On 30 co-star Jennifer Garner has also been cast in the film.
I guess it’s worth noting that the movie is being directed by Shawn Levy who is best known for his family-friendly hits like Night at the Museum and the hit Netflix series Stranger Things. Before The Adam Project, he had also teamed up with Reynolds for a movie called Free Guy; which was originally set to come out in 2020, but will now release this May. While COVID-19 leaves many things unpredictable, hopefully things will be closer to normal in the next few months.
For now, The Adam Project is yet to have a release date, but Free Guy is set to come out on May 21.
