Black Manta is Out for Blood in Latest Trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

It may be hard to believe, but it’s been five years since the release of DC’s standalone Aquaman movie, and now the sequel is set to release later in the year. As promised, we now have a look at Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and to everyone’s surprise, Arthur has had a sone over the 5-year-wait.

Check this out:

The official synopsis reads:

Having failed to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta, still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all. This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force.

To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family, and the world, from irreversible destruction.

Just like the Flash film, the movie had to be delayed for a while since it was said that it had a lot of work to do on the CGI, and based on what we see in the trailer, the movie is going to be one hell of a visual feast; not just with exotic locations, but with all kinds of creatures as well.

Not to mention how much of that underwater hair they had to digitally replace.

It’s crazy the film was actually able to hide the baby subplot till now, but it’s possible the film could have us seeing Aquaman lose his hand like in the comics. We’ll just have to wait until Christmas to find out.

Watch out for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom when the film releases in theaters on Dec. 20.
