The finale of The Mandalorian Season 2 had confirmed that we’ll be getting a Boba Fett spinoff show, but there has been a lot of confusion as to The Book of Boba Fett being the third season of The Mandalorian or its own thing. What’s great is showrunner Jon Favreau has decided to clear it all up.

Talking to Good Morning America, Favreau shares:

“[The Book of Boba Fett] is actually separate from The Mandalorian Season 3, but what we didn’t say in the announcement is that the next show coming up, [Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy] said it was gonna be the next chapter, and that’s going to be The Book of Boba Fett, and then we go into production right after that, on season 3 of The Mandalorian; back with the main character that we’ve all known and loved.”

Hopefully this clears things up for everyone. Since the first two seasons have dealt with Mando trying to find Grogu a home, it’s going to be interesting to see what kind of arc Season 3 will have. So far, the best we have is the situation of the Darksaber, in which Bo-Katan now has to fight Din for it, but hopefully we get some more interesting adventures down the line.

If I had any gripes, I would just hope that these episodes would be longer. I mean, it’s great that they have action, but I would love to have more moments where characters just talk and develop. Then again, with the primary audience being kids, I don’t know if hour-long episodes would be able to retain their attention.

For now, catch the complete second season of The Mandalorian now on Disney+.
