The Office’s John Krasinski was almost the actor to play Captain America in the MCU, but he lost his chance when the studio decided to cast Chris Evans. Fans are now clamoring for Krasinski to play Mr. Fantastic for a Fantastic Four reboot, and Krasinski is apparently all for it.

Talking to Total Film (via Games Radar), Krasinski was asked if he would be open to being the new Reed Richards, to which he says he is not one for ‘shattering people’s dreams.’ He goes on to explain, “I would love to be in the Marvel universe. I love those movies because they’re fun, but I also think they’re really well done. And certainly a lot of my friends are in those movies. I have no idea what [Marvel] are thinking. But if they are considering me for Mr. Fantastic, continue to consider me because I would love it.”

Besides Krasinski, a lot of fans also want his wife Emily Blunt to play the part of Sue Storm. With the Fantastic Four’s heavy emphasis on being a family, it would actually be interesting to have the leads be played by a family in real life.

For now, we still have no idea when Marvel plans to reboot the Fantastic Four. With Phase 4 already cleared out, it’s very likely we’ll get something in Phase 5. Hopefully we get some kind of teaser in the Phase 4 films though. Let’s not forget Marvel Studios also has the X-Men to worry about.

While Fantastic Four is yet to have a release date, you can catch Krasinski and Blunt in A Quiet Place Part II which comes out March 20.
