It’s been almost 30 years since the release of the first Hocus Pocus movie, but now the Sanderson sisters are coming back, and we have a teaser for the Halloween premiere of the sequel.
Watch the teaser for Hocus Pocus 2:
Here’s the official description:
It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters, and they are looking for revenge. Now it is up to three high-school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve.
The movie actually brings back original actresses Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimi in their roles as the Sanderson sisters. The film also has appearances from Doug Jones, Whitney Peak, Hannah Waddingham, Tony Hale, and Sam Richardson.
While not being as popular as the rest of the Disney films that came out alongside it, Hocus Pocus has grown to be a cult classic, and a lot of buzz has been surrounding the release of a sequel. We don’t know exactly what Disney has planned for this follow-up, but we should expect it to be full of some more family-friendly spooks and some musical numbers.
I also have to say, with Disney being the brand that it is, I wouldn’t suspect that they would be so open to have characters like Satan appear in a film, but with young girls practicing witchraft in the teaser, you’d think Disney would have thought that to be too risqué for their intended audience.
Hocus Pocus 2 comes to Disney+ on Sept. 30.
