The hamburger didn’t originate in Japan, but over the last couple of years they’ve taken burgers to another level. Hamburgers, both classic and experimental, often meld the food groups in a myriad of ways. However, in Japan, seafood is added into the mix, as well. The craze began with the Black Burger, and now Ghostbusters gets a spin on the menu of ridiculousness.
Behold the G.B. Burger, pictured below. The burger is seasoned with black olive and anchovy paste, whatever that is, smeared in “bloody hot ketchup,” and topped with cream coated black buns. Sounds delicious, no? According to Entabe (via Kotaku), J.S. Burgers Cafe is unleashing this bad boy on all its restaurants. For the price of 1,580 yen or $15.45 USD, this delectable monstrosity can be yours.
There’s another one, that looks slightly more edible, but may be more of a dessert than an item on the dinner menu. The Marshmallow Mad Burger is quite the feat with its marshmallow stuffed white buns, cookies, and yogurt ice cream. No such meal would be complete without the “blood berry” topping sauce. This amalgam of tasty treat and greasy meat runs at the price of 1,280 yen or $12.52 USD.
But wait, that is not all. This would not be a true Ghostbusters-themed selection of foods if a green goo-esque beverage was absent. The Slimer Smoothie doesn’t appear to be as much of a health risk as the burgers it will be eaten alongside. However, the fruit, candy and vegetable mixture probably won’t be something to brag to your doctor or dentist about.
These towering calorie and carbohydrate nightmares will be on the menu from July 1 to September 30.
