EA CEO Promises Continuation to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

EA’s status was at an all-time low after the botched launch of Star Wars Battlefront II, but the studio was able to redeem itself to players when it came to the release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Though we haven’t gotten any official update, we have confirmation on the sequel in the works.

As per an investors’ conference call, EA CEO Andrew Wilson (via Gamespot) has said:

“Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order coming to the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 was also a moment for new and returning players to jump into that amazing game… We’re continuing to invest in both of these franchises as well as more of our amazing IP.”

Though EA had the exclusive rights to Star Wars before, Disney has now allowed for other studios to play around with the IP, hence Lucasfilm Games. While we still don’t have that much incoming Star Wars games announced, fans can rest easy that they’ll see the return of Cal Kestis someday.

When Fallen Order came out, a lot of fans had loved the Dark Souls-esque gameplay and the difficulty really gave players the feeling of a Jedi in hiding, trying to relearn their training. Though the game earned generally favorable reviews, there has been some criticism when it comes to repetitive gameplay and lack of creative setpieces.

We don’t know what’s in store for Cal Kestis and the crew of the Mantis, but hopefully we get some more variety of missions with the sequel. Give Cal a blaster or let us use Merrin for co-op; heck, let us pilot the Mantis!

No release date has been set for the next Star Wars Jedi game, but you can play Fallen Order on PS4|PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
