While everyone is gearing up for the release of The Mandalorian 2 later this year, a lot of people are awaiting updates on Disney+’s upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Rumor has come out that Hayden Christensen will reprise the role of Anakin Skywalker in the film, and we have more news to back up that claim.
This was posted by insider Daniel Richtman after news of Anakin coming to the Obi-Wan series came out:
Though people expect Christensen to reprise Anakin for flashbacks, it’s a completely different story when it comes to the role of Darth Vader. Vader has actually been played by Spencer Wilding since Rogue One, and it’s possible he could be asked to reprise the part, seeing that he has a more intimidating feel about him compared to Vader.
Then again, since this isn’t official yet, we should just take it with a grain of salt. While I was find with a series completely focused on Obi-Wan, I realized that it would make much more sense if the series had focused on both Kenobi and Vader. We can follow each man struggling with the Aftermath of the Clone Wars, with Obi-Wan trying to survive without the Jedi and Vader hunting down the remaining members.
Then again, it’s just an idea. I’m sure the series would sell way harder though if it was revealed that Vader would be making an appearance.
For now, we’re waiting on the release of The Mandalorian 2 in October. No release date has been set for Obi-Wan, but we’re expecting it to come to Disney+ sometime in 2022.
