Avengers: Endgame ended with Thor joining the ranks of the ‘Asgardians of the Galaxy’, but no one is sure if that’s confirmation that he’ll be in the third film. As it turns out, Hemsworth is very eager to reprise Thor again, and he says he would love to be in the next GOTG.
Talking to CinemaBlend, Hemsworth says:
I’d play that character again. I love it so much – especially if there’s something unique to do again with it. I felt like the last three films were very, very different each time. It really felt like a totally different character. And I don’t even know when or if they’re shooting [Guardians of the Galaxy 3]. After the Avengers press tour I kind of went and buried my head in the sand.
Though Ragnarok was a success, it never really felt like Thor’s arc had come to an end. We got endings for both Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, but the Son of Odin’s story is left open-ended. Maybe he’ll come back and rule Asgard on his own terms?
Hemsworth continued to tell the interviewer:
I’ll work with any of those guys. Asgardians Of The Galaxy. That’s actually great. You might’ve just got me my next job. Thank you, man.
We don’t have a release date for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 yet, but the movie is set to begin production sometime next year. Catch Thor in Avengers: Endgame in theaters today.
