Parks and Recreation ended way back in 2015, and five years later, it looks everyone’s favorite characters from Pawnee, Indiana are coming back for a reunion episode to help raise money for COVID-19 relief.
As per Variety, a Parks and Recreation reunion is set to come out on April 30, and it will include main cast members Amy Poehler, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott, Jim O’Heir, and Retta. We’re even getting a comeback from Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe, who had left the series years before the final season, but still managed to make an appearance for the finale.
Co-creator Michael Schur, also had this to say about the special:
“Like a lot of other people, we were looking for ways to help and felt that bringing these characters back for a night could raise some money… I sent a hopeful email to the cast and they all got back to me within 45 minutes. Our old ‘Parks and Rec’ team has put together one more 30-minute slice of (quarantined) Pawnee life and we hope everyone enjoys it. And donates!”
We don’t really know what to expect from this episode, but I have a feeling that each character is going to be broadcasting from the safety of their home. I guess I’m a tad bummed out because I’m sure couples like Ben and Leslie or Andy and April are expected to appear together, but I don’t think the cast members are going to be going to a co-star’s home in danger of breaking quarantine.
Then again, that’s just my guess. Of course I’m welcome for the episode to surprise me.
