Greta Gerwig’s Barbie is currently one of the biggest films of the year, and a lot of fans are wondering when the movie is going to be able to release on home video. While we’re expecting a prolonged theatrical run, Barbie is already looking at a release date for September.
As per Discussing Film, Barbie is set to hit digital this September 5. We don’t have any more details beyond that, but fans will definitely be looking for some more behind-the-scenes goods and everything else you can expect when a movie gets a home release.
With The Super Mario Bros. Movie said to have made a lot of money from the digital release after their theatrical run, some speculate that WB Pictures would want to replicate the same kind of success with Barbie. If anything, we should expect the same kind of Barbenheimer hype to happen this time around; but damn was it a good time at the cinemas.
Hopefully we get more details on the home release soon. Maybe Mattel can even catch up for their severe lack of merchandise when the movie came out. Even Star Wars knew that toys make more than half the sales—just as the Ninja Turtles.
