Avengers Infinity War: GOTG’s James Gunn Wrote Dialogue for the Guardians in the Movie

James Gunn is the man behind the Guardians of the Galaxy movies and it’s safe to say that he has a good understanding of all the characters in the Guardians universe. Avengers: Infinity War will actually have the Guardians interact with the rest of the MCU for the first time, and it’s revealed that Gunn was brought on board to help with the movie.

During an appearance at Awesome Con (via SuperBroMovies), Dave Bautista (Drax) revealed that Gunn was in charge of writing some dialogue for the Guardians to make their interactions with the rest of the Avengers more authentic. Seeing that Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the first film of Marvel Phase 4, it would also make sense that he would be asked to steer the character in the direction that he would want them to be in by the time Vol. 3 kicks in.

While directors the Russo Brothers have proven their mettle when it comes to comedy thanks to Community, it’s nice to see that they’re trying their best to collaborate with everyone else in the MCU family. Though I’m not expecting that much exposure from the Guardians, I bet their appearance will be memorable enough. Heck, with a cast as large as this movie’s, it’s amazing if anyone manages to stand out.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters April 27.
