A lot of video game fans were completely caught by surprise by how good Netflix’s animated Arcane was when it came out back in 2021, and a lot of people have been waiting for an update on the show.
Now Netflix has dropped the first teaser for the second season; sadly, no Vi or Jinx to be seen:
We don’t have any official description for what’s coming in the second season, but the teaser did come with a logline which reads: “Brace yourself for Season 2 of Arcane, only on Netflix November 2024.”
It’s not entirely revealed who we see in the teaser, but a lot of fans have been suspecting that the character is that of Warwick—more specifically, he’s a transformation of Vander, Jinx and Vi’s father figure who died in the first season.
Here’s the official League of Legends description for Warwick:
Warwick is a monster who hunts the gray alleys of Zaun. Transformed by agonizing experiments, his body is fused with an intricate system of chambers and pumps, machinery filling his veins with alchemical rage. Bursting out of the shadows, he preys upon those criminals who terrorize the city’s depths. Warwick is drawn to blood, and driven mad by its scent. None who spill it can escape him.
Take note, the Vander/Warwick thing is only speculation from fans, but the way the series has been intricately tracking the lore of LOL, it could very well make sense for the story.
With so many characters still far off from the version they are in the games, Arcane definitely has a lot of story to fill in for fans.
Hopefully we get a full trailer for the second season sometime around June. Watch out for Arcane Season 2 when it comes to Netflix later this November.
