The next incoming expansion will bring Ridley Scott’s Xenomorph to the game, and we have a new trailer that not only gives us a look at the Alien, but its accompanying survivor Ellen Ripley.

Check this out:

So far, the reveal is just cinematic, so we don’t really get a breakdown of their specific skills; but based on what the Xenomorph does in the trailer, it’s possible it is going to be blind in the game—even if none of the movies have confirmed or denied what the alien can see.

We should also expect the Xenomorph to be incredibly agile, sneaking around a map to get its prey. It’s also very likely that the game will want to do something with its acid blood and ability to create face huggers that will lay eggs inside its victims.

As for Ripley in the game, she doesn’t really look like Sigourney Weaver, but she does have the rockin’ hair from the late 70s. We don’t know what kind of survivor skills Ripley can come up with, but it’s possible it could have something to do with caring for her other teammates, seeing as that was her major arc in Aliens.

Here I thought they were going to give us at least one android survivor.

Dead by Daylight: Alien launches on Aug. 29.

Dead by Daylight Announces Crossover with Ridley Scott’s Alien https://www.geekfeed.com/dead-by-daylight-crossover-with-alien/ Sun, 06 Aug 2023 17:12:11 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=78094 Dead by Daylight has managed to crossover with several iconic horror properties from Stranger Things to Scream, but the game is set to come to a sci-fi monolith with their latest deal.

Here’s the announcement for Dead by Daylight’s crossover with Ridley Scott’s Alien:

The suffocating silence of outer space pushes resolve beyond its limits.

The teaser doesn’t really show much, but it’s possible we’re getting a new map in the form of the Nostromo a.k.a. the space freighter that served as the setting for the original Alien. As for the Xenomorph, we only get a small tease, but more details will probably be showcased in the reveal announced for August 8.

While we have possible confirmation on a new map and a new killer, fans will probably want to know if there will be any new survivors coming from the Alien franchise. No doubt fans will want a playable Ellen Ripley, but I wouldn’t mind any of the protagonists from future films like Prometheus or Alien: Covenant. I wouldn’t even mind a playable David that only kind of looked like Michael Fassbender.

As for the Xenomorph, it’s possible that a lot of its gameplay is going to be stealth based, but it would be great if they could somehow incorporate its facehugger form into gameplay as well like they’ve done in previous Alien games.

No release date has been announced for the Alien expansion, but we should get more details next week. Dead by Daylight is now playable for PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile.
