Olivia Wilde – Geekfeed https://www.geekfeed.com Entertainment News, Celebrities and Fandoms Wed, 17 Apr 2024 10:00:50 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://www.geekfeed.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/cropped-Geekfeed-Favicon-White-32x32.png Olivia Wilde – Geekfeed https://www.geekfeed.com 32 32 TRON: Ares Set Photos Reveal Jared Leto in a New Light Suit https://www.geekfeed.com/tron-ares-photos-reveal-jared-leto-new-light-suit/ Wed, 17 Apr 2024 10:00:50 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=81966 Disney had already released an official photo of the lead character of TRON: Ares played by Jared Leto, and though we expect him to start out working for the villains, a lot are speculating that he will eventually turn to the side of the ‘users.’

What’s interesting is, some set photos from Ares have leaked online, and it looks like Leto will be wearing a new, updated light suit from the one we saw in the official promo image. Check this out:

For context, here’s a look at the first suit that was revealed.

Looking back at TRON: Legacy, the light suits have mostly been skintight with some neon embelishments, but the suit we see Leto wearing in the set photo kind of harkens to a bulkier look that was sported by Sark in the original TRON. I’m wouldn’t be surprised if it came with some kind of matching helmet.

As for the plot of Ares, the movie is said to be picking up where Legacy left off, albeit through a different character’s lens. With Quorra the ISO (Olivia Wilde) making the jump from the Grid to the real world, it’s said that Leto’s program Ares will also be making the same jump, but we may see him have a change of heart—despite what his programming entails.

Thought Legacy may not have been the hit Disney was expecting, the movie still got a cult following, and a lot of fans had been waiting years for the sequel. Though we are getting a whole new cast, it would be great if we could get some returning faces from the previous films—even just an update on what Sam and Quorra were up to after Legacy.

TRON: Ares is set to release in theaters on Oct. 10, 2025.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Star Joins Tron: Ares https://www.geekfeed.com/star-wars-jedi-survivor-star-joins-tron-ares/ Sat, 15 Jul 2023 17:54:17 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=77817 Star Wars fans know Cameron Monaghan best as the face of Star Wars Jedi protagonist Cal Kestis, but Monaghan is going to be appearing in another sci-fi property under the Disney banner soon.

Deadline reports that Monaghan has joined the cast of Tron: Ares, the next entry in the Tron franchise directed by Joachim Rønning (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil). No details have been revealed about Monaghan’s character, but he will be joining a cast that includes Jared Leto, Evan Peters, Greta Lee, and Jodie Turner-Smith.

While Disney hasn’t released an official synopsis for the movie yet, it’s rumored that the character of Leto is said to be a computer program named Ares which will find his way into the real world.

In Tron: Legacy, it was revealed that there were purely digital creatures called ISOs that spawned from the Grid, and it was said that the sequel was going to deal with the digital world coming to the real one. While it does seem like they’ll be exploring the concept with Tron: Ares, it does look like we’re going to get another ground-up sequel reboot with the story.

Then again, despite the critics, there was still a lot of demand for a sequel to Legacy, and maybe Ares can address what happened to Olivia Wilde’s ISO character after she was sent to the real world. Hopefully they don’t tragically write her off like Shia LaBeouf’s Mutt in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

As of now, Tron: Ares is eyeing a release in 2025.

Florence Pugh Skipping Don’t Worry Darling Press Conference https://www.geekfeed.com/florence-pugh-skipping-dont-worry-darling-press-conference/ Mon, 05 Sep 2022 10:07:21 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=70877 Don’t Worry Darling has been receiving some bad press with word going around that director Olivia Wilde had clashed with star Florence Pugh, and it doesn’t help that news is going around that Pugh will only have a minimal presence at the premiere in Venice.

According to Deadline, Pugh’s limited appearance is due to her tight schedule. Pugh won’t be able to appear in the conference because she lands in Venice around 2 p.m., the conference takes place at 12 noon. Pugh will walk the red carpet and watch the movie with the rest of the cast and crew, but she will hop right back into a plane because she’s busy working on the Dune sequel for Denis Villeneuve.

That being said, this isn’t confirmation that there isn’t any drama happening behind the scenes. I guess Pugh and Wilde will have room to clear things out during the red carpet, but if nothing happens, fans online will just be left to speculate.

Word has been going around that after Shia LaBeouf left Don’t Worry Darling, Harry Styles was brought onboard; but Pugh wasn’t happy with the change after Styles started dating Wilde because it allegedly didn’t allow him to focus on his work with Pugh.

It also doesn’t help that there’s a video online of Wilde asking LaBeouf to stay and slightly disparaging Pugh in the video:

It’s admittedly pretty confusing as to what really happened on the set, but I’m hoping that everyone involved has the sense to make things clear.

Florence Pugh is Definitely Not Crazy in Don’t Worry Darling https://www.geekfeed.com/florence-pugh-is-definitely-not-crazy-in-dont-worry-darling/ Tue, 03 May 2022 09:59:52 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=65088 Olivia Wilde has proven herself quite adept with comedy when she directed Booksmart, but this next film from her starring Florence Pugh seems far from fun and games.

Watch the trailer for Don’t Worry Darling starring Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Chris Pine, Gemma Chan, and more:

The trailer is purposefully vague when it comes to the plot of the story, but the official description does lay out the setting very extensively:

Alice (Pugh) and Jack (Styles) are lucky to be living in the idealized community of Victory, the experimental company town housing the men who work for the top-secret Victory Project and their families. The 1950’s societal optimism espoused by their CEO, Frank (Pine)—equal parts corporate visionary and motivational life coach—anchors every aspect of daily life in the tight-knit desert utopia.

While the husbands spend every day inside the Victory Project Headquarters, working on the “development of progressive materials,” their wives—including Frank’s elegant partner, Shelley (Chan)—get to spend their time enjoying the beauty, luxury and debauchery of their community. Life is perfect, with every resident’s needs met by the company. All they ask in return is discretion and unquestioning commitment to the Victory cause.

But when cracks in their idyllic life begin to appear, exposing flashes of something much more sinister lurking beneath the attractive façade, Alice can’t help questioning exactly what they’re doing in Victory, and why. Just how much is Alice willing to lose to expose what’s really going on in this paradise?

If you’ve seen Midsommar, you’ll know that Pugh can pretty much play the woman in a troubled relationship, and it looks like she’s going to be playing the same archetype when it comes to Don’t Worry Darling.

If anything, the movie kind of feels a lot like The Stepford Wives, but this time, it’s the husbands who are keeping a terrible secret, and it’s Florence Pugh who has started to see throught the cracks of the whole façade.

Catch Don’t Worry Darling when it hits theaters on Sept. 23.
