The series is set to premiere in November, and we have a new clip with Scott, Ramona, and more.

Check this out:

The scene essentially has Scott (Michael Cera) asking Julie (Aubrey Plaza) about Ramona (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), and we see him order a package on Netflix (originally Amazon) expecting her to make the delivery. Scott’s roommate Wallace (Kieran Culkin) is also in the scene, and he asks Scott to search for a Lucas Lee (Chris Evans) film on Netflix.

It’s just a short clip, but we can already see some differences with the live-action film; particularly when it comes to the snapiness of the narrative. Though Wright’s style feels like it definitely goes hand-in-hand with Scott Pilgrim, I am interested to see this new direction the anime is going. Even then, a lot of Wright’s influence can still be expected in the series.

I do have to say that Cera’s voice as Scott is kind of different in the clip, but I guess we’ll just have to wait for the final product to see how everything meshes together.

Scott Pilgrim meets the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers, but learns he must defeat her seven evil exes in order to date her. Then things get even more complicated. Based on the graphic novels by Bryan Lee O’Malley.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off premieres on Netflix on Nov. 17.

Aubrey Plaza in Marvel’s Agatha: Coven of Chaos? https://www.geekfeed.com/aubrey-plaza-in-marvels-agatha-coven-of-chaos/ Fri, 04 Nov 2022 01:02:21 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=71863 Chris Pratt was a part of Parks and Recreation before he became the lead of a franchise like Guardians of the Galaxy, and word has it that one of his Parks co-stars could be making a jump to the MCU as well.

As per The Illuminerdi, Aubrey Plaza, a self-identifying ‘Evil Hag’ (no, really, it’s her Twitter handle) is going to joining another Evil Hag show, specifically Agatha: Coven of Chaos. We don’t really have any details about Plaza’s character, but seeing as she herself is a big name, they could put her in a more substantial role opposite Kathryn Hahn—who, surprisingly, was also in Parks and Recreation.

Though this is Plaza’s first rodeo with the MCU, she has appeared in another (now discontinued) Marvel series, Legion with actor Dan Stevens. With a lot of critics praising Plaza’s role in that show, Marvel would do well to give her a nice and meaty role when it comes to this WandaVision spinoff.

So far, nothing official has been announced about Plaza’s casting, so maybe we should take this piece of news with a grain of salt for now. Besides Hahn, no other major cast member has been mentioned; but I guess some fans are hoping for some kind of appearance from Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch.

I’ll be honest, I don’t see where an Agatha spinoff could go, but if Marvel is willing to push forward, maybe they have something interesting in mind. As long as it goes for a different tone like She-Hulk, I’m all aboard.

No release date has been set for Agatha: Coven of Chaos, but you can catch her in Wandavision now streaming on Disney+.

Shia LaBeouf Joins Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis https://www.geekfeed.com/shia-labeouf-joins-coppolas-megalopolis/ Thu, 01 Sep 2022 12:20:36 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=70843 Shia LaBeouf may have caused some trouble for Olivia Wilde and her movie, but he’s going to be teaming up with one of the most celebrated directors of all time.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, LaBeouf has joined the cast of Coppola’s next movie dubbed Megalopolis. No details have been released about LaBeouf’s role, but he does join a star-studded cast which includes Jason Schwartzman, Aubrey Plaza, Adam Driver, Laurence Fishburne, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Forest Whitaker.

Megalopolis is being described as an independent film, and Coppola describes the film:

“There’s a certain way everyone thinks a film should be, and it rubs against the grain if you have another idea… People can be very unaccepting, but sometimes the other idea represents what’s coming in the future. That is worthy of being considered.”

Here’s the movie’s logline as well:

“The fate of Rome haunts a modern world unable to solve its own social problems in this epic story of political ambition, genius and conflicted love.”

Considering Coppola’s reputation, a lot of fans should expect some kind of cerebral movie, but the director has been known to have some kid-friendly films like the Robin Williams-fuelled Jack. Admittedly, Coppola hasn’t had a hit movie since the Godfather films and Apocalypse Now, but you can’t fault him for trying.

I mean, if Martin Scorsese can still direct films like The Irishman, Coppola is certainly allowed to direct a movie every now and again.

Going back to LaBeouf though, he has been under fire recently after his ex-girlfriends have come out with stories of his abusive nature, but maybe this film with Coppola could be a chance for a comeback.

Megalopolis is yet to receive a release date.

Little Demon: Aubrey Plaza and Danny DeVito Set to Star in Animated Horror Sitcom https://www.geekfeed.com/little-demon-aubrey-plaza-and-danny-devito-set-to-star-in-animated-horror-sitcom/ Thu, 13 May 2021 09:08:51 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=59500 Danny DeVito (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation) star in two of the most highly praised sitcoms today, and now news has it that the duo are teaming up for an animated horror sitcom on FXX.

As per Variety, DeVito and Plaza will be providing their voices for a show called Little Demon. The series has a reluctant mother (Plaza) impregnated by the Devil (DeVito), and thirteen years later finds her antichrist daughter (Lucy DeVito) in a weird custody battle where the mother and daughter just try to live normal lives and are constantly thwarted by Satan and his minions.

The series is created by Darcy Fowler, Seth Kirschner, and Kieren Valla who will all serve as writers for Little Demon. What’s interesting is that Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Harmon is also attached to the series as an executive producer, alongside Plaza as well as the DeVitos Danny, Lucy, and Jake.

We don’t have any key visuals for the show yet, but knowing Plaza’s public image, it seems right in her alley to play the mother of the antichrist; and it this point, Danny DeVito can pretty much play anyone and people will love him whatever he does.

Though we don’t have a good look at Little Demon yet, I can imagine Harmon’s involvement is going to make this a show that’s silly on the surface, but still has something more meaningful and ‘real’ at the very heart of it. Until FXX gives us more, all we can really do is wait.

No release date has been set for FXX’s Little Demon.
