Netflix’s The Sandman may be about the character Dream, but we know that he’s only one of several “Endless” beings that populate this mystical universe. We’ve met Death, Desire, and Despair, and now Netflix has revealed to us the rest of the Endless—making a roster of Seven.

So to round out the Endless cast, we have Tom Sturridge as Dream, Kirby as Death, Mason Alexander Park as Desire, Donna Preston as Despair, Adrian Lester as Destiny, Esme Creed-Miles as Delirium/Delight, and Barry Sloane as The Prodigal/Destruction.
Though each member of the Endless like to stay in their own particular realms, it was Destruction that decided to abandaon his realm, and is considered to be the wisest of all the Endless. Since he doesn’t keep his place in the Endless pantheon, he is reffered to by his siblings as the Prodigal.
With The Sandman being such a celebrated comic, there was a lot of pressure for the first season to actually deliver as the adaptation had spent years in development hell. Though it wasn’t perfect though, Sandman was still able to generate enough buzz that Netflix gave it the greenlight for a second season.
We don’t know how long they plan to keep the series going, but there are definitely a lot of stories that The Sandman can draw from just looking at the source material.
No release date has been set for the second season of The Sandman, but it’s possible that it could premiere sometime later this year on Netflix.
