The Spice Must Flow in Latest Trailer for Dune: Part Two

Dune fans held their breath when Denis Villeneuve’s Dune released mid-pandemic, but we’re getting a sequel, and we’re set to see the rise of Paul Atreides and the Fremen. Just in, we have a new trailer, and it gives us our first look at Christopher Walken as the Emperor and Austin Butler as the Harkonnen golden boy, Feyd Rautha.

Check this out:

Here’s the synopsis:

“Dune: Part Two” will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.

Though cast members from the first movie like Jason Momoa and Oscar Isaac won’t be coming back, the trailer does confirm that Josh Brolin’s Gurney Halleck will be coming back, as well as Dave Bautista’s Glossu Rabban.

As for new cast members, we have Florence Pugh’s Princess Irulan as well as Lea Seydoux who is playing another member of the Bene Gesserit. Tim Blake Nelson was also said to have joined the cast, but we have yet to see what his character will look like in the movie.

Admittedly, fans were surprised when Dune managed to get a sequel greenlit. Though Villeneuve is a critical darling, his projects are known to be theatrical flops, like with Blade Runner 2049. Hopefully Dune: Part Two manages to engage a bigger audience this time around.

Dune: Part Two releases in theaters on Nov. 3.
