Just in case you’re not familiar with the Fallout series, here’s the synopsis:
In a future, post-apocalyptic Los Angeles. citizens must live in underground bunkers to protect themselves from radiation, mutants, and bandits after nuclear annihilation.
The series is essentially designed around a future that was envisioned in the 50s, with a dash of Nuclear War paranoia that came with the Cold War. In the Fallout universe, the technology is advanced, but it’s big and bulky, without the use of microchips; and the music is full of 50s rock and roll and doo-wop.
Besides the people who lived in the vaults, there are also those outside in the wasteland who have been transformed in the nuclear wasteland (like Goggin’s character the Ghoul). There are also other factions like the Brotherhood of Steel that makes use of the series’ iconic Power Armor.
With the franchise’s expansive world, it’s said that the series is going to exist in the same continuity as the games and will have a standalone story. We don’t know how much of it will cross over, but hopefully we get some more details soon.
With a release date set for April, I have my fingers crossed that we’ll get our first live-action teaser around the new year.
Watch out for Fallout when it premieres on Amazon Prime Video on April 12, 2024.
