Back in 2007, HBO released a musical comedy series in the form of Flight of the Conchords, and it starred Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie. The show ended with its second season back in 2009, but now HBO is announcing an upcoming special almost ten years later.

Check it out:

Though it seems that McKenzie and Clement have branched out with their own careers since the show ended, the two still regularly do tours as Flight of the Conchords and have an upcoming tour this year from March–April.

No doubt this new special is going to provide us some new songs, and probably proper recordings of their bits from their 2016 tour. Like this one:

For now, Clement has had a very seasoned career as an actor, and has even found some voice-work in movies like Moana and shows like Legion and Rick and Morty. McKenzie, on the other hand, is more focused on music and has won an Oscar for his work on The Muppets movie.

Despite the show getting canned, Flight of the Conchords has somewhat received cult status, and each of their songs come to about a couple million views each on Youtube. It’s also worth noting that FOTC was a stomping ground for hotshot Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi.

Catch the new Flight of the Conchords special on HBO this coming May.
