Zendaya had been a major playor for the Spider-Man Home trilogy, but with Brand New Day incoming, some people are expecting a shake-up with the cast lineup.
While fans were okay with Zendaya sitting out this movie for once, rumor is going out that she might actually appear, but in a limited capacity. According to The Cosmic Circus, she could be in Brand New Day, but it’s going to be a ‘minor role’.
The last time we saw MJ, she, like the rest of the world, had her mind wiped of Peter Parker, and though Peter was ready to reveal who he was to her, he decided to hold back on it so he could keep MJ (and Ned) safe from his superhero shenanigans.
This opens up the door for Peter to have some personal growth in the next film, and a lot of people think that could be with whoever Sadie Sink is going to be playing in the movie. Could she be Black Cat? How about Gwen Stacy? I do like the idea of her being Jean Grey, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
What I know is that I want to see Peter date some other people dammit, because it’s all part of personal growth. He’ll probably circle back to MJ in the next couple of films, but in the meantime, I want to see Peter know more about himself based on the people he’s going to end up dating.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to come out in theaters on July 31, 2026.
