Major Spoilers for Suicide Squad ahead.
Suicide Squad is quite unique, in some respects. Firstly, supervillains lead the film. This is important because it makes a change from the big superhero films dominating recently. Suicide Squad is also unique because it’s the first in the new round of DC films not to have been directed by Zack Snyder. Suicide Squad, on the other hand, is helmed by Fury and End of Watch director, David Ayer. Snyder might not be leading the DC characters this time, but he still has an executive producer credit. More importantly, though, Snyder also had a hand in one of the film’s scenes.
Whilst it has only just hit cinemas, there may be many of you who’ve piled into see Suicide Squad already. There was a flashback scene featuring Captain Boomerang. In the scene, he’s caught attempting to rob a bank. The man who caught him? Ezra Miller’s Flash.
For fans who have been desperate to see The Flash on the big screen, this was a great way to show the Justice League incarnation off.
Collider brought up Zack Snyder’s sneaky The Flash scene in Suicide Squad when they interviewed David Ayer at a recent press day in New York:
“Flash was always in the movie, we just got lucky because Justice League was happening and they had the uniform, they had the assets, so we were able to get that photography.”
A clever move on both Ayer’s and Snyder’s part. With Ezra Miller starring in the new Justice League film, Snyder could grab a quick shot and send it over to Ayer. As well as the surprise, The Flash also has a chance to introduce himself before being part of bigger events in the DC team-up epic next year.
