Before starring in more serious properties like The Morning Show, Reese Witherspoon had her fill of romantic comedies with films like Sweet Home Alabama and Just Like Heaven. Now she’s ready to come back to form with a movie that feels like The Holiday, but on a smaller scale.

Here’s the official synopsis:
Debbie and Peter are best friends and total opposites. She craves routine with her son in LA; he thrives on change in NY. When they swap houses and lives for a week they discover what they think they want might not be what they really need.
The film comes from Aline Brosh McKenna who had written romantic comedy monoliths like The Devil Wears Prada. She also created shows like Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and provided the story for Cruella starring Emma Stone.
Besides Witherspoon and Kutcher, we also have appearances from actors Steve Zhan, Tig Notaro and even Crazy Ex-Girlfriend co-creator Rachel Bloom.
If anything, Your Place or Mine feels like a return to the classic rom-com from the mid ‘00s, and the concept is kind of brought home with actors like Witherspoon and Kutcher in the leading roles. While it’s not really ground-breaking drama, I think a lot of couples would love to sit in and watch a fun little comedy for Valentine’s Day when the movie releases.
