Is Yondu Coming Back for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe began exploring its cosmic side with Guardians of the Galaxy and jumped to new dimensions in Doctor Strange. All this in order to prepare the audience for the biggest battle of all: Infinity War.

Phase Three of the MCU will reach its highest point with Infinity War, which will bring together the Avengers and the Guardians. But as the Guardians roster will change in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, which of these will appear in Infinity War?

We know for sure Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot, Rocket and Mantis will be there, and it looks like a Ravager might join the fun. Michael Rooker (who plays Yondu) shared a photo on his Instagram account wearing an Infinity War beanie and getting his coffee fix at his “lovely local” Starbucks in Georgia. Given that Infinity War is currently filming in Atlanta, it all made perfect sense.

He later shared another pic in full Yondu-makeup showing a “rock candy”. Rooker sure knows how to tease fans.

Having a great morning so far at my lovely local Starbucks in Peachtree city Georgia…..ShitYes!!!

There has been no official word on Rooker’s involvement in the film but the pics speak for themselves. Plus, Infinity War will bring both teams together in order to defeat Thanos – the more, the better. Yondu will have a bigger role in Guardians 2 than he did in the first film, to the point where he is now a Guardian himself. Also, let’s not forget Yondu was hired by Ronan to collect the orb for Thanos, so yes, there’s a connection.

Yondu being in Infinity War means that he will survive whatever happens in Guardians 2 with Ayesha and Ego. And as Mantis and Nebula will also be there, we can all be at peace knowing all the Guardians will be ok.

How big Yondu’s role will be is unclear, and we will have to wait to see if he will be loyal to his team or not. Still, the best part of this is that there will be more Michael Rooker in the MCU.
