Willem Dafoe is joining the long list of actors who have worked in both Marvel and DC Comics movies. The Oscar nominee has a role in Warner Bros.‘ Justice League.
The Hollywood Reporter vaguely describes Dafoe’s role as a “good guy,” so we can only speculate on how large or how small the part he will play is. It’s also not known if Dafoe will be in both Justice League: Part One and Part Two.
Dafoe is known to comic book fans as the Green Goblin in the Sam Raimi-directed Spider-Man films. He also recently starred in John Wick with Keanu Reeves and just made The Great Wall opposite Matt Damon.
The Justice League movies will be directed by Zack Snyder, with the first part due out on November 19, 2017. Ben Affleck is returning as Batman, along with Henry Cavill as Superman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as The Flash and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. J.K. Simmons joined the cast last month to play Commissioner Gordon.
Dafoe is an incredibly talented actor, so we can only hope that he won’t be wasting his time with a bit part in Justice League.
