We are now less than a month away from the highly anticipated Rogue One. Lately, more and more TV spots and sneak peeks have been making their way across the internet. Someone call DJ Khaled, because we’ve got “anotha one.” This time in a really cool featurette that takes you behind the scenes of Gareth Edwards’ war film. What’s really apparent right out of the gate is the obvious reverence everyone involved has for the world. Edwards in particular really seems in awe of the opportunity that he has here, and it’s refreshing to see that level of dedication and love. A true fan of the series is making a movie and it’s exciting to see.
It feels like the director and all his actors are on the same page, as well. Diego Luna and Felicity Jones both talk at length about how cool of an experience the film has been. Hearing Felicity Jones with a big smile on her face say “oh wait we’re in Star Wars” will make any fan giddy. The crew and the actors all know what they get to do and it feels natural. Seeing all of the locations where they were filming also adds a new dimension to the hype. These are actual locations, and sure they’ll be CGI, but seeing real sets is incredibly cool.
Finally, the featurette does a great job of explaining the story and the background. Rogue One will basically show the formation of the Rebel Alliance, along with all the locations we know and love. Seeing the Rebel base on Yavin IV after almost 40 years, is going to be a surreal moment and the look and feel is on par with the original. Have a look at the video below, it gives a great feel for the movie.
