Yes, Uncharted 4 A Thief’s End has suffered another, unfortunate, delay. No, it does not spell doom and gloom. The title’s release date is now set for May 10th, 2016. This time, the delay is only two weeks out from the previous date. According to a PlayStation Blog post by SCEA President and CEO, Shawn Layden, Uncharted 4 is wrapping up nicely and due to go gold at the end of this month. However, because of global high demand and potential supply constraints, Sony and Naughty Dog have made the tough decision to push the game back to ensure all Uncharted fans are able to pick up a copy day one.
“We know this news might be disappointing, and we are sorry to have to make you wait a little longer to play Naughty Dog’s latest,” says Layden in his post. “The good news is that the game is phenomenal — we are fully confident that it will be worth the wait and the team at Naughty Dog is eager as ever for you to experience Nathan Drake’s final adventure.”
Hours prior to the new release date announcement, Uncharted 4’s open multiplayer beta was revealed. The beta begins this Friday on March 4th and ends at 11:59pm PST on Sunday, March 6th. All PS4 gamers are invited to play — since it is a stress test, a PS Plus subscription will not be required. Players can preload the beta now (check the “Free” tab on PSN); when it launches on Friday, at 9:00am PST, everything will be ready to go.
Uncharted 4 is sure to be as phenomenal as Sean Layden and Microsoft’s Phil Spencer believes it will. For the latest on all Uncharted 4 news keep it locked to GeekFeed.
