Transformers Star Being Eyed to Replace Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror

Marvel Studios has definitely found themselves in a pickle when it comes to Kang actor Jonathan Majors. After the actor was found guilty on counts of harassment and assault, Marvel had to drop the actor who was central to their next phase of films. Now everyone is wondering what the studio is going to do about Kang.

Fans have been speculating that the studio was going to go a recast route, and everyone has been pitching online on who should take over the role from Majors. Now a rumor from insider Daniel Richtman (via CBM) is coming out saying that actor Colman Domingo (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Euphoria) is being eyed to take over the part of Kang.

Domingo is best known for his more down-to-earth roles like being Ruth’s (Zendaya) sponsor in Euphoria, but he’s recently made the jump into playing a literally massive comic book villain, voicing the role of Unicron in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts—a role that was originated by none other than Orson Welles in the first Transformers animated movie.

Take note that the source says that Domingo is only ‘one option’ to replace Majors. Other fan-favorites that have been thrown around online include John Boyega (Star Wars) and Denzel Washington (Training Day). If you ask me, they should cast someone who can do multiple voices and characters to make up the Kang identities. I would think that SNL alum Jay Pharoah might be a huge swing for the part, but I am also willing to roll the dice on Eddie Murphy being an old and distinguished Kang.

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty was expected to start shooting this year.
