Last week we had just gotten our first look at Tom Holland in the Uncharted film, but it looks like the star is ready to come back to his biggest franchise—Spider-Man.
Holland has just shared this video of himself arriving in Atlanta, and he’s expressing his excitement to be working on the third Spider-Man film:

We don’t know officially what’s in store for this movie, but rumors are going around that it will delve into the Spider-Verse, what with Jamie Foxx reprising the role of Electro and Benedict Cumberbatch appearing in the movie as Doctor Strange. While nothing has been confirmed yet, rumors are also going around that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be reprising their Spider-Man roles for the film.
While it would be great to see past Spider-Men appear in the film, I’m hoping that the movie doesn’t stray from Peter Parker becoming his own Spider-Man. In the MCU Homecoming and Far from Home, we always see Peter having mentors in the form of Tony Stark and Nick Fury, and now it looks like the third one could have him be put in line by Doctor Strange or the other Peter Parkers. Hopefully that won’t be the case with the third film and we actually get to see the MCU’s Spidey be his own hero.
Of course, this is just speculation based on rumors, but fingers crossed that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man doesn’t get sidelined in his own film. I mean, nostalgia is great, but it shouldn’t come as priority when compared to good storytelling.
Spider-Man 3 is set to come out in Dec. 17, 2021.
