Solo: A Star Wars Story premiere is drawing near. Adding to the hype, Lucasfilm has decided to give us some actual clips from the film. Three have come out online, and they give us a great look at Han meeting Beckett and Val, Han meeting Lando, and Chewie and Beckett playing Holochess.
Check them out:
What’s interesting about this clip is it confirms that Beckett and Val were not Imperials, but merely thieves in disguise. Though the clip is straightforward, it’s kind of interesting how Han spots them in Mimban.
It doesn’t just tell us where Han and Beckett meet but it also gives us an idea of how smart Han actually is.
Meanwhile, this clip with Lando pokes fun at how Billy Dee Williams in the original trilogy pronounces “Han” differently. It’s just a small goof, but it’s interesting how the movie manages to address it. I can’t wait to see more of this scene.
The final clip has Beckett playing a game of Dejarik with Chewbacca. This the first time we actually see people pressing buttons on the table, however, it’s pretty cool that they kept the classic Claymation feel from the original Star Wars trilogy—just like they did with The Force Awakens.
Hopefully Lucasfilm won’t reveal anything too spoiler-y as the release for Solo draws nearer. We wouldn’t want to give anything too big away.
Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters May 25.
