The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand with its Phase Three, which began last year with Captain America: Civil War, and continued with the introduction of the Sorcerer Supreme in Doctor Strange.
While Civil War brought together most of the current heroes in the MCU (minus the Guardians, of course. They’re on the cosmic side for now), there were two big absences: the Hulk and Thor.
After the events in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Hulk’s location is unknown – and will remain as such until Thor: Ragnarok comes out – and Thor is back in Asgard… or so we thought. During Marvel’s panel at last year’s San Diego Comic Con, the studio shared a short film showing what Thor was up to during Civil War. Said video introduced Thor’s new friend, Darryl, who was also his roommate during this time.
If you were wondering if the relationship between Darryl and Thor has improved, the second part of this mockumentary will show you that rooming with Thor is not easy. Titled Team Thor: Pt. 2, the video (which is part of the special features in the Doctor Strange Blu-Ray, coming out on February 28) shows Thor and Darryl dealing with the rent.
Did you know that Asgardian coins are worth a “gazillion human dollars”?
Living with roommates is tough even for the God of Thunder, but this will be the least of his problems once Thor: Ragnarok comes out. The third Thor movie will follow the Asgardian prince who, imprisoned on another world without his loyal hammer, must outlive a gladiatorial duel against the Hulk in order to return to Asgard and stop the chaos going on there.
Thor: Ragnarok, set for an October 25 release, will also feature Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), continuing the post-credits scene in Doctor Strange where Thor and Strange were casually chatting in the Sanctum Sanctorum.
As for Darryl popping up in the movie, let’s just say we wouldn’t get our hopes too high.
