The Righteous Gemstones are Back in Trailer for the Final Season

The Righteous Gemstones have been Danny McBride’s hilarious take on the cutthroat world of televangelists, and the show is ready to come out with their fourth and final season this March.

Just in, HBO has dropped the first trailer for the series, and it features everything people love about the Gemstones from the siblings arguing to Uncle Baby Billy Freeman pitching another ridiculous idea for a religiously-themed television show. Check this out:

So far, it does look like the series is going to pick up where Season 3 left off, with the ‘Gemstone siblings now fully running the church, and Kevin going all out with his gay identity and capitalizing on it with the Gemstone brand.

John Goodman has also been a big presence in the show as Eli Gemstone, and while his character is usually taking a backseat to the siblings’ shenanigans, it looks like Eli is going on some kind of solitary journey that has him on a boat somewhere just drinking and doing whatever.

You would think that the series’ final season for the Righteous Gemstones would have something to do with Eli’s death (like Succession), but it looks like it’s more of leaning into his existential crisis and what he’s going to do with his remaining years.

It’s probably also worth mentioning that this is the first time we see Jesse Gemstone sporting a full Danny McBride moustache. You’d think they would want to keep the classic white sideburns for the character, but the facial hair does make it feel like there’s been a huge timeskip since the last season.

Catch The Righteous Gemstones 4 when it comes to Max on March 9.
