HBO’s Hacks continues to soar above and beyond when it comes to comedy dramas, and the series is expected to make a comeback next month. Just in, a new trailer has been dropped for Season 4, and it showcases more Ava/Deborah shenanigans.

The third season of Hacks had ended with Ava (Hannah Einbinder) and Deborah (Jean Smart) getting their own talk show, but it does come with the unfortunate caveat that Ava had to blackmail Deborah to get the job.
So far, the two have been dancing around their toxic relationship, but the real meat of the show is how they manage to keep emphasizing how bad their relationship is, while at the same time allowing both women to be their best selves when they’re with each other.
Despite the growth between the two, it does look like their main traits are still on display with Deborah being a wealthy diva and Ava being a progressive loser. Though it’s always fun to see the two spat onscreen, I do hope they manage to give them some new ground with this new season—seeing that Ava is already pretty successful on her own right.
We don’t know what else Hacks has in store for the audience, but it’s definitely one of my fave comedies, and should be fun to alternate with the current season of The Righteous Gemstones.
Hacks returns to HBO on April 10.
