The big reveals keep coming from the San Diego Comic-Con, and Netflix has released their first teaser for The Dragon Prince, a show from The Last Airbender head writer Aaron Ehasz.
Here’s an official description:
Two human princes forge an unlikely bond with the elfin assassin sent to kill them, embarking on an epic quest to bring peace to their warring lands.
Avatar fans should also watch out for a character called Prince Callum; he’s voiced by Jack De Sena, who plays the role of Sokka in the original Last Airbender series. De Sena is joined by Paula Burrows, who voices the moonshadow elf Rayla, and Sasha Rojen who plays Prince Ezran.
I’ll admit, I’m not a fan of the animation style at all; even the framerate looks a bit choppy. However, there is an upside. The only thing that’s getting me to watch this series is Ehasz’s reputation for working on The Last Airbender. That show was just filled with fantastic writing and world-building that The Dragon Prince could have something more going for it.
Fingers crossed that Netflix decides to up the animation should the first season do great.
The Dragon Prince comes out on Netflix Sept. 14.
