Channing Tatum is an Escaped Convict That Lives in a Toys “R” Us in Trailer for Roofman

We know that Channing Tatum is going to be in the next Avengers movie as Gambit, but he has some other things going for him besides Marvel. Just in, Paramount has dropped the first trailer for Roofman which has Tatum playing the true story of Jeffrey Manchester, an escaped convict who hid out in a toy store for days.

Check out the trailer:

Here’s the official description:

Based on an unbelievable true story, Roofman follows Jeffrey Manchester (Channing Tatum), a former Army Ranger and struggling father who turns to robbing McDonald’s restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs, earning him the nickname: Roofman.

After escaping prison, he secretly lives inside a Toys “R” Us for six months, surviving undetected while planning his next move. But when he falls for Leigh (Kirsten Dunst), a divorced mom drawn to his undeniable charm, his double life begins to unravel, setting off a compelling and suspenseful game of cat and mouse as his past closes in.

The movie has a star-studded cast. Besides Tatum and Dunst, the film also includes LaKeith Stanfield, Juno Temple, and Peter Dinklage.

If anything, the film does feel like one of Tatum’s previous movies Logan Lucky which also has him doing a prison break and being a sneaky criminal; but the big difference is that this story is actually based on something that actually happened.

So far it looks pretty fun, and I always appreciate Tatum more when he’s doing comedy compared to him just taking on straight up action or drama. Even that moon landing movie with Scarlett Johansson could have used a few more laughs if you ask me.

Watch out for Roofman when it comes to cinemas on Oct. 10.
