Warning: spoilers ahead
A recently released set photo teased a huge cameo in Thor: Ragnarok. In the picture we see Thor looking down at an address that every die-hard Marvel fan will recognise. Does 177A Bleecker St. ring any bells?
The address in question is that of Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum. Yes, that’s right. Even though he’ll be debuting his first film this year, Doctor Strange might also be making an appearance in Ragnarok.
“Ohhh I don’t know,” he told Digital Spy. “I am not sure if… I don’t know actually. I can’t comment on it. It may have just been something for the fans.”
On the subject of a Cumberbatch cameo, he added, “Might be a little tease. Or maybe a tease just for people who wanted to zoom into that photo.”
And here’s the photo in question:
Waititi is being the ultimate tease. While Doctor Strange’s address is definitely seen, in what way he’ll appear remains a mystery. Yet, we already have Bruce Banner’s Hulk in Ragnarok. On the Hulk’s appearance in the film, Banner’s story in Ragnarok will feature elements from the plot of Planet Hulk, according to Digital Spy.
We all know that Marvel can’t resist bringing their superheroes together and we definitely enjoy it when they do. In addition, Thor and Doctor Strange would work well together, as both superheroes have elements of magic attached. However, how exactly would Doctor Strange fit into the story of Ragnarok? Because his Father Odin is lost, fans believe that Thor might call on Doctor Strange to help him.
In conclusion, with Marvel‘s ever-expanding universe and a new series of superheroes to play with like Doctor Strange, Ant-Man and Black Panther, the chances that Doctor Strange will find himself in the company of Thor are highly likely. Yet, whether we get this in Ragnarok or whether we’ll have to wait for Infinity War and beyond for a team-up, we still don’t know.
