Last week, we got some first images for Patty Jenkins upcoming Wonder Woman 1984, but we didn’t even get to see Diana in her classic costume. Now a new image has been released of Gal Gadot in costume, and I think it’s safe to say that the colors are brighter this time around.

Check it out:

https://twitter.com/GalGadot/status/1007928376999469057

Though most of the main elements of the costume look the same, I can’t help but think that the armor here looks a lot curvier as compared to the one on the last movie. It’s also been confirmed that Diana will get some battle armor upgrades for this film, but I’m crossing my fingers that they keep it out of the marketing and save if for when the movie comes out.

With Marvel movies giving their heroes a new outfit with every sequel, I’m actually happy that DC tries to stick to the costume their characters are introduced with. The only time we see a significant costume change is when colors are made brighter or if there is an actual tactical advantage to wearing a different outfit; Batman’s armor for example.

Wonder Woman 84 had just recently started production, so it’s doubtful that we’ll be getting a trailer soon. At best, I think we’re looking at our first teaser sometime early next year.

Catch Wonder Woman 1984 in theaters Nov. 1, 2019.
