‘Supergirl’ Heading to Metropolis in Season 2

‘Supergirl’ Heading to Metropolis in Season 2

Supergirl may be heading to Metropolis in the show’s second season if leaked set photos are to be believed. Two emergency vehicles from Metropolis, an ambulance and police car, were spotted and snapped by Vancouver set reporter YVRShoots (via CBR) implying that Supergirl may be visiting her cousin in Metropolis at some point during the season.

Given Superman’s heavy presence in Season 2 of Supergirl, it makes sense that Kara would show up in Metropolis from time to time. Maybe this will be to grab a coffee with her cousin, or you know, save people. One would suspect that the season finale will involve them both dealing with the threat of the second season, something Cadmus related maybe?

In addition to these images, banners for LuthorCorp were also spotted by eagled eyed set reporters. Superman’s nemesis Lex Luthor has not been officially tied to Supergirl Season 2, but could this be a surprise reveal? Or will it merely serve as an easter egg type deal? It would be awesome to see Lex Luthor pop up at some point during the season, even if it’s briefly. It would be a nice nod to the character but also establish Lex as apart of that universe beyond logos for his company. Then again, if you’re going to cast someone like Lex Luthor in the show, no doubt an announcement would be made beforehand.

Details on the second season of Supergirl are scarce but executive producer Sarah Schechter did reveal details about the next season at San Diego Comic-Con this year, teasing that recently cast Chris Wood is the mysterious figure in the pod from Season 1. Sarah also mentions that there will be a strong family focus in Season 2 and the butting of heads between Superman and Supergirl in some good old sibling rivalry.

Season 2 of Supergirl begins October 10 on The CW and stars Melissa Benoist, Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, Jeremy Jordan, David Harewood, Calista Flockhart and Tyler Hoechlin.
