This weekend, DC and David Ayer bring us Suicide Squad. We’ve had the rounds on Jared Leto’s Joker, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn and Will Smith’s Deadshot. This time, though, Ayer and the team have focused on the movie’s antagonist, the Enchantress (Cara Delevingne).
Cara Delevingne gets to play not one, but two characters during the film – June Moone and her alter ego, the Enchantress. Featuring over on Collider, the new promo video offers a delicious scene from the new film.
Although brief, her transformation sequence in the teaser is particularly beautiful. It’s still unclear how Enchantress becomes the Squad’s target, however.
As if the video wasn’t enough – we also get pictures.
Suicide Squad, is set to be a bigger success than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and it’s easy to see why.
Delevingne’s Enchantress looks pretty scary in the new images released. With Jared Leto’s Joker already sending chills down spines, Enchantress has to out-do him. White eyes with black circles, strange pendants and a general sense of terror definitely give her the edge.
It’s clear that a huge amount of work has gone into the characters. From Enchantress to the Joker, the team has built gripping characters. The Suicide Squad film is going to be killer.
We don’t just have a video and images, though. The official synopsis has also dropped, and you can read an extract of it here:
Suicide Squad follows the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and takes place in a post-Superman world where the government tries to determine how to respond in the event that an alien with more villainous intentions visits Earth. Ruthless intelligence officer Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) offers to recruit society’s worst criminals, those possessing lethal skills and superhuman powers. Her first target: the possessed archaeologist June Moone/Enchantress (Cara Delevingne).
Here’s the Suicide Squad promo video in all of it’s glory. You can find more images over on Collider.
Suicide Squad hits cinemas August 5th.
