Beware, spoilers for Suicide Squad may follow.
The DC sphere is buzzing with speculation that Batman might not be the only Justice League member arriving in Suicide Squad. Some are suggesting Ezra Miller’s Flash could also be making an appearance. The rumours aren’t solid, but fans are basing theories on the latest Suicide Squad trailer. In the footage, Captain Boomerang is surrounded by electrical charges that are a classic trait of Batman’s ally.
Furthermore, Boomerang is a Flash rogue. With Batman already turning up to confront his nemesis, the Joker – and possibly Deadshot – why wouldn’t others feature? If Warner Bros. have decided to bring both in for cameos, here’s to hoping this superhero sideshow won’t detract from the Suicide Squad itself.
However, if true, this could work in WB’s favor, as it will offer another chance to show off The Flash. A Suicide Squad cameo could further expose audiences to Ezra Miller’s version of the character prior to is extended debut in Justice League. This could be especially beneficial to his place in the DCEU, when considering the Speedster’s solo film won’t release until 2018.
Following his winning appearance in the Justice League teaser, so far, Ezra Miller seems to fit perfectly. Of course, we could all be getting ahead of ourselves. Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress is playing the part of the main villain in the film. These electrical charges could easily have something to do with her.
We only have to wait 9 days to find out, as Suicide Squad opens in cinemas on August 5th.
It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
