WB’s upcoming villain-centric ensemble film, Suicide Squad, is surrounded by plenty of excitement. And for good reasons too — the marketing has been near perfect and the last two trailers have depicted what is expected to be a new take on the genre. However, rumors ran amok last week that the film was in the process of reshooting scenes to add more humor. Captain Boomerang actor, Jai Courtney, already set the record straight, but now the film’s director, David Ayer, has chimed in as well.

“‘Reshoots for humor’ is silly.” As good an explanation as any. His brief comment, tweeted with the “more action” hashtag, definitely corroborates Jai Courtney’s aforementioned statement on the speculation: “I wouldn’t say we’re going back to make it funnier. There’s some additional action stuff that we’ve been doing, which is pretty dope. Yeah, really we’re just kind of adding in that sense.”
After the release of Suicide Squad’s latest quip heavy and action-packed new trailer, reshoots may be the last thing on anyone’s mind. Take a look at the trailer below, if in case for some reason you missed it, or you just want to dive into the “psychotic” mind of David Ayer one more time.
Suicide Squad arrives in theaters this summer on August 5.
